Police Arrest Three Suspects in Killing of Taguig Officer and Her Son

Quezon City, Philippines — January 31, 2026.

Authorities have arrested three suspects believed to be responsible for the killing of Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) Diane Marie Gabres Mollenido, 38, and her 8-year-old son, John Ysmael Gabres Mollenido, whose bodies were discovered in Bulacan and Tarlac after being reported missing earlier this month.

The Arrest

At around 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on January 30, operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) apprehended Gil Valdemoro Dy Jr., 41, Pia Katrina Chua Panganiban, 29, and Christian Suarez Panganiban, 44, in coordinated operations at residences in Novaliches and San Bartolome, Quezon City. All suspects are now under police custody.

The arrests were carried out by combined teams from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) led by PLTCOL EDISON B OUANO, the District Investigation Division (DID) led by PLTCOL ROSEL I CEJAS, QCPD-SWAT led by PMAJ BONI DULAG, and Police Station 4 led by PLTCOL MICHAEL JOHN VILLANUEVA, all under the able and ever supoortive QCPD Acting Diatrict Director PCOL RANDY GLEN G SILVIO.

The Case

Investigations revealed that on January 16, PSMS Mollenido and her son left their home in Taguig City aboard a Toyota Innova (plate number NAK 2796) to sell the vehicle. They were last seen alive at the Novaliches residence of Pia Katrina and Christian Panganiban.

On January 19, the victims’ disappearance was reported by PMSg John Ledesma Mollenido, husband and father of the victims, at the Taguig City Police Station.

Investigators later confirmed that the vehicle had been sold to a buy-and-sell agent for ₱450,000.

Tragically, on January 24, PSMS Mollenido’s body was found along Pulilan Bypass Road in Bulacan, wrapped in a garbage bag with a gunshot wound to the head. Five days later, on January 29, the remains of her son were discovered in a calamansi farm in Victoria, Tarlac.

Evidence and Ongoing Investigation

Recovered from the suspects during the arrest were identification cards, mobile phones, and ₱100,000 in cash. Police had earlier recovered the mobile phones of the victims. Authorities are continuing operations in Bulacan and Pampanga to locate the firearm used in the crime. A silver Toyota Fortuner allegedly used to transport and conceal the victims’ bodies is undergoing forensic examination in Angeles, Pampanga.
